Welcome to the Jake Boyle Memorial Golf Tournament!

Now in its 13th year, the Jake Boyle Memorial Golf Tournament (JBMGT) started in 2007 to remember and honor our friend, Jake Boyle. The Jake Boyle Memorial Golf Tournament began shortly after Jake passed away following a battle with brain cancer. Now a yearly tradition, the JBMGT brings friends and family together for a day of fun and a little competition. Over the years, the JBMGT has grown into an event drawing in golfers and guests from across the country. It is through the generous and overwhelming support of our golfers, guests, and sponsors that we are able to continue this tournament each year!

Remembering Jake

Jake touched many lives and left an enduring legacy wherever he went.  He joined Rubbermaid as a Product Development Engineer in 2002 when the company was located in Wooster, Ohio. In 2004, Rubbermaid moved to Huntersville, and Jake was selected to make the move to Charlotte and form the new Food and Beverage Division. While at Rubbermaid, Jake worked on several successful projects, such as Take Alongs and Beverage Bottles.
Boyle was a 2002 Penn State Behrend graduate and a stand-out baseball player. He still holds three Behrend baseball records for RBIs (188), runs scored (198), and home runs (35). In honor of his kindness, selflessness, and winning attitude, the JBMGT Committee, in partnership with Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, established two foundations to celebrate his memory. Established in 2007, the Jake Boyle Scholarship Fund benefits engineering students at Penn State Behrend who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. The Engineering Scholarship and Athletic Program Fund are indicative of the areas where Jake stood out in both academics and athletics. In the past 12 years, the tournament has generated over $160,000 to support these two funds, far exceeding all expectations.

We would like to thank all of the generous participants, sponsors, and benefactors whose support allows us to continue this tradition in honor of Jake Boyle.
